Giane Brocco is the Founder and CEO of Amazu Biomimicry and one of the pioneers in introducing biomimicry in Brazil. She was among the first 100 people in the world to become a Certified Biomimicry Specialist by Biomimicry 3.8 (USA) and brings over a decade of experience applying biomimicry in practice within companies, products, and leadership development.
Combining her engineering background, systems thinking, and a deep connection with nature, she promotes innovation, creativity, and leadership while inspiring the Amazu team to innovate with nature as a reference.
As a consultant, together with the Amazu Biomimicry team, she has developed projects for companies such as Danone, Unilever, Dezon, L’Oréal and Sicredi, among others, positioning Amazu as a global reference in biomimicry applied to business.
She is also a partner in two other companies (Mercobor and Asha) and co-founder of Biomimicry Brasil, the organization that represents the Biomimicry Institute and Biomimicry 3.8 in the country.
Giane holds a Master’s degree in Production and Systems Engineering and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Production Engineering, as well as additional training in leadership, governance, and innovation. She is a Biomimicry Specialist certified by Biomimicry 3.8, a BioLeadership Specialist certified by the Amani Institute, and has completed the Leadership for Transition program at Schumacher College (London and Brazil). She also holds a postgraduate degree in Corporate Governance for Family Businesses from the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance (IBGC), a specialization in Neuromarketing from Unisinos, and certification as an ISO 9001 Auditor (BVQI), among other qualifications.
In addition to consulting, she is also a speaker at national and international events and a guest lecturer at universities, recognized for her work applying biomimicry to innovation and leadership. She has participated in more than ten podcasts and has been a speaker at four TEDx events, as well as major events such as South Summit and Rio2C. She also served for more than eight years on the New Leadership Council (CONLIDER) of the FIERGS System, was a member of the Innovation and Technology Committee at ACI-NH, and currently serves on the Sicredi Futures Committee.
Throughout her career, Giane has developed proprietary methodologies that apply biomimicry strategically in different business contexts, such as BioSprint, a consulting framework for practical innovation inspired by nature; the Companies as Forests program, based on industrial indicators inspired by natural ecosystems; and the BioLeadership programs, which gave rise to the Leaders Ecosystem initiative focused on people and organizational culture development.
Through Amazu Biomimicry, Giane and her team work alongside organizations seeking to innovate in a smarter, more sustainable way aligned with nature’s principles, developing solutions, strategies, and leadership capable of generating value for businesses, people, and the planet.

Across industries, Amazu empowers leaders and organizations to rethink business through nature-inspired innovation.
Amazu Biomimicry in the media:
Nature has been solving complex challenges for 3.8 billion years. Biomimicry connects organizations to this intelligence — applying the strategies of living systems to innovation, leadership, and business transformation.
By learning from nature’s principles, companies can develop products, processes, and business models that are more efficient, resilient, and prepared for emerging economies. Biomimicry strengthens innovation, sustainability, and ESG strategies, inspires new leadership approaches, and generates solutions with high strategic value, competitive advantage, and positive impact.
The word biomimicry comes from the Greek bios (life) and mimesis (to imitate). In essence, biomimicry means innovation inspired by nature. Nature is the world’s most advanced innovation laboratory. Within living systems we find strategies capable of inspiring new ways to create value, use resources intelligently, and design solutions aligned with the challenges of the future.
Rather than extracting resources, generating waste, or simply mitigating impacts, biomimicry invites organizations to learn from systems that have operated successfully for billions of years — systems that are efficient, adaptive, and regenerative.
Adopting biomimicry means adopting a new way of thinking about innovation. It transforms complexity into opportunity, sustainability into competitive advantage, and purpose into performance. Organizations that learn from nature develop solutions that are smarter, more efficient, and built to last — not only for today, but also for future generations.
Nature has already solved many of the challenges we face.
Biomimicry teaches us how to learn from it.
More than a trend, biomimicry represents the evolution of innovation.
We translate nature’s intelligence into strategic solutions for businesses and leaders.

In 2025, the biomimetic packaging developed for Danone, applied to the 100g packaging of the Activia, Danoninho and Actimel product lines, was recognized among Brazil’s leading awards in design, innovation and sustainability, reinforcing the potential of biomimicry as a powerful strategy for innovation.
These recognitions reinforce our innovation approach: inspired by nature and guided by science, engineering and measurable sustainable impact.
The project was developed through a partnership between Amazu Biomimicry, Danone, Cazoolo Lab and Graham Packaging, demonstrating how — just as in nature — collaboration among different areas of expertise strengthens the creative process and enables the development of smarter and more sustainable solutions.
Biomimicry is relevant for all types of companies, teams, and challenges. Our approach is designed to adapt to this diversity. We operate with an agile and lean structure, allowing us to act as strategic partners in projects of different scales and levels of complexity, always with objectives clearly aligned with those of our clients.

Count on Amazu as your partner to innovate with nature’s intelligence, strengthen sustainability strategies, and develop solutions with consistency, competitive advantage, and lasting impact.
I never fail to be impressed by the disruptive simplicity of biomimicry. In theory, there is nothing simpler than turning to Nature to solve everyday issues, but we’ve become so disconnected from it, that listening to Amazu’s lectures has created countless insights that have been useful – both in my personal life and career. The decision to involve Amazu in the company and discuss topics internally such as ‘living organizations’ and ‘technology and innovation aligned to sustainability’ has given us so many ideas and new projects. We are so keen to inspire and inform others that we also have brought a little bit of Biomimicry and Amazu to our clients.
When I found out about biomimicry, I was struck by the idea and its transforming potential for design projects. I was keen to look into the subject further, and it was thanks to the course by Giane, that we realized it could enrich the projects that Néktar works on. We look to Nature for inspiration, not only for solutions to projects but also about how to organize the business. Using what Amazu and Giane have given us has only driven us to try to utilize biomimicry within our business methodology.
Amazu is a charming combination of biomimicry and Giane and it reminds us of what is natural. What was already there before we decided what was normal, to be normal. This reminder of what is essential, by looking at Nature using a structured method, enables us to carry out a genuinely cross-cutting exercise. Amazu makes important changes possible, for businesses, organizations and society.”
Nature has always been my main inspiration for my designs. My work as a fashion designer is directly connected to the study of colors, shapes and textures and these are the basic ingredients in Nature itself. When I was lucky enough to discover Biomimicry through Giane Brocco, I was delighted to realize that Nature was not just an inspiration for creative designers like me, but it could be an inspiration for technology and innovation throughout our society. With Giane, I learned to look at Nature, have respect for it and learn to follow its example, which is fundamental for the future of humanity.
